The customer operates a truck parking facility at the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia, where drivers wait during customs clearance. Operators responsible for raising the gates use iPads connected to a FileMaker database to record vehicle, driver, and transport information. The goal was to enable operators to quickly and easily print parking tickets on-site with all necessary driver details.

Using our Xgode tool, we developed a native application that connects to a hosted FileMaker database and, thanks to the Gonector plug-in, enables direct communication with a Zebra mobile Bluetooth printer.
We also created a receipt template using ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) to define the layout and content of the parking entry or exit confirmation. On the iPad, the operator fills in a form with vehicle, driver, and transport details. After confirmation, the ticket is printed automatically on-site.
Each successful print job is logged in the database and marked as issued. The entire solution runs on a FileMaker Server located on-site, ensuring stable operation even under challenging conditions.
