A manufacturer of concrete prefabricated elements, such as curbs, manholes, and other components, needed to optimize their production process. The main goal was to maximize the use of limited space in the production hall every day, while also considering limited workforce and the availability of production molds. Their original planning was done in Excel, which was slow and error-prone. Therefore, the customer requested a specialized tool for fast and accurate planning that would ensure maximum utilization of space, labor, and formwork.

We integrated a planning module into the existing FileMaker database, enabling intuitive visualization and scheduling of production tasks. The module includes a clear table layout with a day-by-day and project-by-project view, showing how much space, workforce, and mold capacity each project requires. This real-time visual feedback allows the operator to immediately verify if the plan optimally uses the available daily resources.
We also adapted the solution for use on iPads, allowing workers to check the placement of each product directly at the production site. Additionally, the system supports scanning QR codes on molds, which helps workers see what formwork is available or needed for a specific casting.
Thanks to this solution, the production team has full oversight over space, workforce, and form availability, and they can plan each day efficiently and flexibly.
