We're pleased to announce Toolbox 3.2.2, the latest update to our utility plug-in for FileMaker. Toolbox extends FileMaker with powerful functions that help developers automate workflows, work with the operating system, and solve tasks that would otherwise require complex scripting or external tools.
This release focuses on greater flexibility, redesigned documentation, improved stability and new text-processing capabilities.
Run System Scripts in the Background
One of the key improvements in Toolbox 3.2.2 is that Toolbox_DoSystemScript can now run in the background.
This allows FileMaker solutions to launch external scripts without interrupting users, helping create smoother workflows and a more responsive user experience. It's particularly useful for long-running processes and system automation tasks.
New Toolbox_RegExpMatch Function
Version 3.2.2 also introduces Toolbox_RegExpMatch, a new function for working with regular expressions.
Developers can now easily validate, search, and extract text patterns directly from FileMaker solutions, making it easier to process structured data such as email addresses, phone numbers, identifiers, or custom text formats.
Improved Stability
As always, we've also controlled and improved the stability to make Toolbox even more reliable in everyday use.
